Growing up in Newark, New Jersey, I always envisioned myself in the entertainment industry. By the time I was twelve years old I had written my first mini novel. I never thought producing or directing films was possible back then because I didn’t see many women, especially women of color in those roles. Today, women are more prominent in the industry and opportunities in creative positions are achievable. I want to do my part and continue to open doors and shatter glass ceilings for generations of women after me.

I create films where most of the main characters are women. Not because I don’t love our male counterparts, but I feel that women should have more stories written about us for everyone to enjoy. We can be the hero or the villain, so my work tends to reflect the many layers we have and how we evolve as characters.

I don’t cater to just one film genre. I love to create, dramas, comedies, horror, thrillers and I might even venture into sci-fi in the future! My focus is to convey a visually compelling story and how I can provoke a great conversation long after the credits roll.
